Judge Gisela Laurent Joins the Community Health Centers Board

WINTER GARDEN, FL – Community Health Centers, Inc., recently, elected Orange County Judge, Gisela T. Laurent to their Board of Directors. The Honorable Gisela T. Laurent was elected to serve as Orange County’s first Female Hispanic County Court Judge in 2016. She currently serves in the County Criminal Division. Prior to Judge Laurent’s service on the judiciary, she served the community as a bi-lingual Orlando attorney who advocated on behalf of Orange County’s diverse populations. She represented more than 2,000 clients, ensuring they had a clear understanding of the justice system and the impact of their cases.

“Judge Laurent is a great addition to the Board of Directors. As a native resident of Central Florida with a demonstrated track record of service to others, she brings great passion and understands firsthand the needs, issues and opportunities available to every Community Health Centers patient”, says Timothy McKinney, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The Community Health Centers Board of Directors oversees and approves strategic planning, provides financial oversight, reviews legal compliance and reviews and approves the organizations policies. More than 50% of the Board of Directors are comprised of patients of Community Health Centers.
