Community Health Centers, Inc. is proud to have an active pharmacy program, with a staff of pharmacists and pharmacy techs working hard to bring effective and affordable medications to our patients. Pharmacy Services are available within four centers – Apopka Family Health Center, Pine Hills Family Health Center, South Lake Family Health Center, and Winter Garden Family Health Center. CHC purchases pharmaceuticals under the Federal 340b program, and is an active participant in Pfizer’s Sharing the Care Program and other prescription assistance programs. These programs enable us to deliver lower cost medications to CHC’s growing patient population.
CHC has seen explosive growth in Pharmacy services during the past year. 153,735 prescriptions were dispensed, up from 85,300 in 2002 – a 53% increase. Under the various Patient Assistance Programs (PAP), the pharmacy dispensed 40,031 prescriptions (with a 340B cost basis of $1,757,167). The pharmacy dispensed at No Charge (under our Title X Family planning Services Program) a total of 12,999 prescriptions with a retail value of $180,911. It is important to note that CHC recognized over $1,100,000 in donated pharmaceuticals for patient assistance programs and is able to maximize non-grant revenue.
