Forty years ago, Community Health Centers, Inc. was founded by four nuns with a mission to give the Apopka area migrant workers and elderly access to health care they couldn’t afford.  A small start to what would become a very big idea.

Incorporated in 1972 as the West Orange Farmworker Health Association, the organization found success, delivering affordable primary medical and dental services to the Central Florida community, especially to the uninsured and underserved.

We changed our name in 1990 to Community Health Centers, Inc., and have grown to be one of the largest federally qualified health centers in Florida, providing care at 12 locations across central Florida in Orange and Lake County.
