Community Health Centers, Inc. Breaks Ground on New Apopka Dental Center
Apopka, FL. A Ground Breaking Ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 for a new Community Health Centers, Inc. Apopka Dental Center located at 210 E. 7th Street, Apopka, FL. Community Health Centers has been providing healthcare services to the Apopka community since 1972, with adult Dental services added in 1979.
The new Apopka Dental Center will increase the dental operatories from 4 to 10, increase dental staff, expand adult dental and establish new pediatric dental services, and improve patient access to quality and affordable dental services.
Community Health Centers received an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Capital Improvement Program Grant in the amount of $990,756 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration to build this new dental facility.
Opening of the new Apopka Dental Center is scheduled for this Fall 2010.
Community Health Centers, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization that provides primary and preventive medical, dental and pharmaceutical services to insured, uninsured, underinsured, and underserved children and adults within Central Florida. CHC has ten clinics which are the Apopka Family and Children’s Health Centers, Pine Hills Family Health Center, Winter Garden Family and Children’s Health Centers, Eatonville Family Health Center, South Lake Family Health Center, Leesburg Community Health Center, Zellwood Family Health Center, and the Lake Ellenor Dental Center. Last year 47,364 patients received care at Community Health Center sites. CHC accepts Medicaid, Medicare and many private insurance plans.
