Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra recently visited our Meadow Woods center, accompanied by our President & CEO, Dr. Debra Andree, and Chief Medical Officer Jocelyn Pichardo. During his tour of the facility, Secretary Becerra saw firsthand how Community Health Centers (CHC) delivers quality care to the community. His visit demonstrated his commitment to improving healthcare access and affordability for all Americans.

In conjunction with Congressman Darren Soto, Secretary Becerra held a press conference in our Meadow Woods lobby to highlight important changes in insulin pricing for the community and access to healthcare via the Affordable Care Act. Local media were present to report on the event, which was a significant step forward in improving access to healthcare for those in need. The Secretary’s visit and the press conference underscored the importance of collaboration between government officials and healthcare providers in creating positive change for our communities.

HHS Regional Director Antrell Tyson, CHC Board Chair Karla Radka, Chief Operating Officer KathyJo Bailey, Associate Dental Director Dr. Waleska Velez, FACHC President & CEO Jonathan Chapman, Orange County Commissioner Maribel Gomez Cordero, and other community leaders were also in attendance. Secretary Becerra’s presence and support for Community Health Centers underscored the vital role these centers play in improving our communities’ health and well-being. We were honored to have him visit one of our beautiful facilities.
