Community Health Centers, Inc. Welcomes New President/CEO

WINTER GARDEN, FL…. After a comprehensive national search, the Board of Community Health Centers, Inc (CHC) has selected Barbara Snell to serve as our new President/CEO. Ms. Snell started on September 19, 2011. She joins CHC with over 25 yrs of healthcare management experience in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. For the past 14 years, she has served as Chief Executive Officer at Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers located in Madison, WI and Nashville, TN. As CEO, she has led a number of initiatives that significantly improved access to care for vulnerable populations. Ms Snell holds a Master’s degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She credits her early career as a hospital social worker as the source of her commitment to improving access to high quality, affordable care for underserved populations. “I’m honored to lead CHC as we continue to expand access to care and provide a medical and dental home for our community members,” Snell said.

Community Health Centers, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization that provides primary and preventive medical, dental and pharmaceutical services to insured, uninsured, underinsured, and underserved children and adults within Central Florida. CHC has twelve clinics located in Apopka, Bithlo, Eatonville, Lake Ellenor, Leesburg, Pine Hills, South Lake, Winter Garden, and Zellwood. Last year 50,726 patients received care at Community Health Center sites, with 45% uninsured and on a sliding fee scale.
